2026 World Cup: entry restrictions to the United States for Ivorian and Senegalese supporters

Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe: these are the 15 countries (including 12 from Africa) targeted by "partial restrictions and entry limitations" to the United States, pursuant to the "Proclamation expanding and strengthening entry restrictions" signed by Donald J. Trump, president of the United States, on 16/12/2025.

However, two of these 15 countries, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, are among the 48 that will take part in the 2026 World Cup:

• Côte d’Ivoire (Group E) will face Ecuador in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA) on 16/06, then Germany in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) on 20/06, and Curaçao in Philadelphia on 25/06/2026.

• Senegal (Group I) will first face France in New York-New Jersey on 16/06, then Norway at the same venue on 22/06, and finally Iraq, Bolivia or Suriname in Toronto on 26/06/2026.

Simplified entry procedures to the United States are provided for players, coaching staff and delegations, but not for supporters. Donald Trump’s “proclamation” could therefore…
