Piracy/France: several pirates ordered to pay €5.7m in damages to beIN SPORTS

"beIN SPORTS France welcomes the ruling handed down on 12/12/2025 by the Rennes Court of Appeal in the case against French pirates who had illegally shared its content through the network of websites beinsport-streaming.com. This decision marks a significant victory in the fight against piracy actively pursued by the channel since its launch in France," announced the pay-TV group on 19/12/2025.

beIN SPORTS France has thus obtained, as part of these proceedings, damages amounting to €5.7m in respect of a "material loss, notably analysed as a loss of opportunity to subscribe to the channel, linked to the massive and organised availability of illicit content," said the group, adding that it also secured €150,000 in compensation for the moral damage suffered.
