F1: record attendance figures (6.7 million cumulative spectators) and fanbase (827 million) in 2025

"Formula 1 has a global fanbase of 827 million and is the world’s most popular annual sporting series, with a year-on-year increase of 12% and a 63% increase versus 2018. This global fanbase figure makes Formula 1 the most popular global sport league, with a fanbase 11.4% greater than the second biggest sport (NBA)," according to the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season review published by Formula One Group on 19/12/2025.

Among the key figures in this report:

• Fanbase: 43% of fans are aged under 35 (+51 million additional fans under 35 compared with 2024, accounting for 57% of new F1 fans).

• Fanbase: 42% of fans are women, up from 37% in 2018, with an additional 43 million female fans compared to 2024.

• Attendance: record total of 6.7 million fans (up 3% on 2024 and up 60% on 2019) over the 24 Grand Prix weekends, including 11 attendance records. 19 out of 24 events were sold out. 14 weekends attracted more than 300,000 spectators on site, including four exceeding 400,000 spectators (500,000 for the British Grand Prix).
