RB Leipzig: Stephan Cieplik (ex-Manchester City) chief revenue officer from 01/04/2026

Stephan Cieplik (GER) will become chief revenue officer of RB Leipzig (Bundesliga) from 01/04/2026, announced the club on 22/12/2025. He will succeed commercial director Matthias Reichwald, whose departure "by mutual agreement" is scheduled for 31/12/2025.

Stephan Cieplik previously held the same position with the Houston Rockets NBA franchise (2023-2024) as well as senior vice-president global partnerships sales at Manchester City FC (Premier League) from 2013 to 2022.

"Stephan Cieplik has lived and worked in various countries across Asia and the Middle East for 16 years, followed by almost five years in the United States. He also held senior commercial positions at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Total Sports Asia, where he served as marketing partner for leading European football clubs in Asia," said the club.

"He will report to managing director Johann Plenge, alongside Jens May (COO), Marco Fenske (CMO), Ulrich Wolter (chief relations & sustainability officer) and Helena Heckschen (chief of staff & business development)".
