FIFA: renewed partnership with the Qatar Stars League and the Qatar Football Association

"As part of its efforts to make football truly global and enable more clubs, leagues and players from all around the world to compete at the highest level, FIFA has renewed its partnership with the Qatar Stars League (QSL) and the Qatar Football Association (QFA)," announced the body on 22/12/2025. An initial memorandum of understanding between FIFA and the QSL was signed in June 2022, just over five months before Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup.

This collaboration aims "to continue their drive to raise standards of professional club management and administration across all first- and second-division clubs in the QSL and to implement educational programmes for club managers and agents, as well as mental health and overall well-being support systems for players."

Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, and Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, president of the QSL and the QFA, signed this new MoU on Qatar National Day, on 18/12/2025, ahead of the Arab Cup final (won by Morocco over Jordan, 3-2) at the Lusail Stadium.
