More than 150 million ticket requests from over 200 countries have been submitted to date for the 2026 World Cup as part of the third phase of ticket sales, which is the "highest demand in FIFA World Cup history," announced FIFA on 30/12/2025.

This third phase, open from 11/12/2025 to 13/01/2026, consisted of a registration period for a draw during which fans can submit requests for specific matches based on the fixtures determined by the final phase draw held on 05//12/2025. FIFA had already announced that it had received more than 5 million ticket requests within 24 hours after the launch of this third phase.

"The outcome of the current phase means the FIFA World Cup 2026 is oversubscribed over 30 times based on verified individual credit card numbers submitted with each ticket application. The demand also represents 3.4 times more than the overall number of spectators who have attended the 964 matches that make up all 22 editions of the competition combined since 1930," said FIFA.
