Germany: DFB-Pokal final will be broadcast in Ultra HD in bars by Sky Deutschland on 30/05/2015

Sky Deutschland will produce and broadcast the final of the DFB-Pokal 2014-15 between Borussia Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg (at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on 30/05/2015, from 20:00 CET), in Ultra HD in fifteen bars, announced the pay-TV group on 22/05/2015. The bars will be equipped with a Samsung Ultra HD compatible television (via a dedicated "last generation" decoder), said Sky Deutschland. This is the first time a football match will have been broadcast live publicly in Ultra HD.

The director will have 11 Ultra HD cameras, including three Sony HDC 4300 cameras, being used for the first time, as well as the high resolution FreeD system (Replay Technologies). The match is encoded at a rate of 23 Mbps through HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) standard, with an encrypted transmission of 50 frames per second.
