Spain: football posts 12 of the top 15 best TV audience in 2025

Of the 15 most-watched television broadcasts in Spain in 2025, 12 were football programmes, according to data from the audience measurement institute Kantar.

The 2024-25 Nations League final between Portugal and Spain (2-2 after extra time, 5-3 on penalties), played on Sunday 08/06/2025 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), takes the top three spots (regular time, extra time and penalty shoot-out).

The match drew an average of 8.92 million viewers during regular time, 8.96 million during extra time and 9.03 million during the penalty shoot-out on the public TV channel La 1 (RTVE) in Spain. Audience share: 54.1% (regular time), 58.2% (extra time) and 60.7% (penalties).
