Rangers FC: Jim Gillespie to become CEO "later in the 2025-26 season"

Jim Gillespie is to become the new CEO of Rangers FC (William Hill Premiership) "later in the 2025-26 season," announced the club on 12/01/2026.

He resigned from his position as vice chair and director at St. Mirren FC (William Hill Premiership), roles he had been holding since 2021 and 2020 respectively. Jim Gillespie was also the CEO of Kibble, "one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, delivering complex, regulated services for vulnerable children and young people and managing a staff of over 1,000," between 2014 and 2025.

"Jim will be an integral part of the Rangers FC executive team, responsible for leading the organisation’s management and all operations in support of the club’s football ambitions and pursuit of silverware," added the club.

Fraser Thornton will "continue to serve as acting CEO" until the arrival of Jim Gillespie. He was appointed in December 2024 following the dismissal of Patrick Stewart, the former CEO, in November 2024, one year after his start at the club.
