LALIGA: partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation to promote cybersecurity

LALIGA and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures (SETELECO), a body under Spain's Ministry of Digital Transformation, have signed an agreement aimed at promoting cybersecurity and combating online hate, announced the Spanish league on 14/01/2026.

The partnership is led by Spain's National Institute for Cybersecurity (INCIBE), a body attached to the Secretariat of State. The aim of the agreement is to "address the challenges arising from digitalisation, notably in areas such as the prevention of cyber risks, data privacy, cybersecurity awareness and the fight against online hate speech in the digital environment, including phenomena such as cyberbullying, racism, xenophobia and discrimination," said LALIGA.

The agreement provides for the development of joint initiatives aimed at employees, clubs and supporters, as well as the promotion of the 017 helpline, a free and confidential service managed by INCIBE "helping citizens to resolve issues or incidents related to cybersecurity".
