FIFA/2026 World Cup: over 500 million requests submitted during the 3^rd phase of ticket sales

"Over 500 million ticket requests" from 211 territories have been submitted for the 2026 World Cup as part of the 33-day third phase of ticket sales, announced FIFA on 14/01/2026.

This demand, "a new benchmark in the history of world sport," represented an average of 15 million ticket requests per day over the application window, opened from 11/12/2025 to 13/01/2026. It consisted of a registration period for a draw during which fans could submit requests for specific matches based on the fixtures determined by the final phase draw held on 05/12/2025. FIFA had already announced that it had received more than 150 million ticket requests for this third phase by 30/12/2025.

Apart from the host countries (United States, Mexico and Canada), the highest number of applications came from fans residing in Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Colombia.
