LALIGA EA Sports/Spain: RTVE acquires free-to-air broadcasting rights to one game per matchday from DAZN

RTVE has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights, from DAZN, to one game per matchday of LALIGA EA Sports from the 2025-26 season in Spain, announced the public TV group on 15/01/2026.

DAZN acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights to one game per matchday of the Spanish top flight for the 2025-2027 period on 13/05/2025. The platform reportedly pays an additional €4m per season for these rights held by the audiovisual group Mediapro over the 2022-2025 cycle, according to Spanish media outlet 2Playbook. Until now, for each matchday, DAZN offered either an extra match (broadcast by Movistar) or free coverage of one of the five matches broadcast on its platform.

The agreement will begin with the RCD Espanyol - Girona FC fixture on Matchday 20, which will be broadcast on the public channel Teledeporte on Friday 16/01/2026 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

• Over the 2022-2027 cycle, Movistar and DAZN each broadcast five LALIGA EA Sports games per matchday, on 35 of the 38 matchdays (the two groups take turns broadcasting match choices 1,3,5,7,9 and 2,4,6,8,10).
