Mediapro: Sergio Oslé (ex-Telefonica) appointed chairman of the group following the departure of T. Benet

Sergio Oslé has been appointed executive chairman of Mediapro, effective from 02/01/2026, announced the Spanish audiovisual group on 15/01/2026.

The appointment of the former CEO of Telefónica and chairman of Movistar+ (Telefónica group) had not been made official until then, despite several announcements in the Spanish media.

He has replaced Tatxo Benet, former CEO of Mediapro, whose departure was announced on 21/10/2025. Co-founder of Mediapro with Jaume Roures and Gerard Romy in 1994, Tatxo Benet was the last of the three remaining members of the group. He was confirmed as president and CEO of Mediapro after Jaume Roures stepped down in October 2023.

"We are reviewing all contracts and departments to ensure they are profitable and make sense. The aim is to restore revenue and create a healthier mix of clients and income streams," said Sergio Oslé to Spanish media Expansión, on 15/01/2026.
