CAF/TotalEnergies AFCON: revenues up 90% for the 2025 edition compared with 2023

The Confédération Africaine de Football reported revenues linked to the TotalEnergies AFCON 2025, held in Morocco, up by "more than 90%" compared with the previous edition in 2023 (Côte d’Ivoire), announced CAF on 16/01/2026.

The 2025 AFCON is thus described as "the most successful commercial story in the history of African football," according to the Confederation, which attributes this growth to a "significant increase in the commercial partners of CAF, in media rights distribution and venturing into new markets most notably the Far East, China, Japan while also consolidating traditional markets".

The competition, which featured nine partners for the 2021 edition (in Cameroon) and 17 in 2023, lists 23 partners in 2025. While TotalEnergies (energy, FRA) has extended its title sponsorship agreement for the competition, in force since 2017, through to 2028, CAF has also signed seven new sponsors for the AFCON 2025, including three from the host country: Suzuki (car/motorbike manufacturer, JPN), Konami (video games publisher, JPN), The Laughing Cow (cheese, FRA), Danone (dairy…
