FIFA: Swiss Attorney General announces it has seized documents from FIFA headquarters

"The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) has opened criminal proceedings against persons unknown on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and of money laundering in connection with the allocation of the 2018 and 2022 Football World Cups. The OAG has seized data and documents stored in IT systems at the FIFA (headquarters in Zurich, SUI)," stated Swiss Attorney General on 27/05/2015.

Six FIFA officials were arrested in their hotel on the eve of the opening of the FIFA Congress (28 and 29/05/2015), in which the president of the international federation for the 2015-2019 period will be elected.

"The files seized today and the collected bank documents will serve criminal proceedings both in Switzerland and abroad," stated the Swiss Attorney General.

"Swiss Federal Criminal Police will be questioning 10 persons who took part in voting on the allocation of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups" (Full press release of the Swiss Attorney General on 27/05/2015)
