Toulouse FC: launch of a “green brigade” made up of volunteers to encourage waste sorting at the Stadium

Toulouse FC (Ligue 1 McDonald’s) has launched a “green brigade” made up of around 20 volunteers who “are mobilising to support fans in their waste-sorting behaviours” at the Stadium (33,033 capacity) in Toulouse, announced the club on 20/01/2026.

The initiative has been in place since the home match against OGC Nice (5-1) on Saturday 17/01. The “waste-sorting expert volunteers” were recruited via the associations World Clean Up Day France and Toulouse Zéro Plastique. "Their missions? Raising awareness about pollution, providing information on waste sorting, helping supporters with their sorting behaviours and encouraging them to return their reusable cups". This experience will be repeated "as soon as possible in order to move towards more environmentally responsible behaviours".

The first edition of the initiative also saw the city and metropolitan authorities of Toulouse set up awareness stands on the forecourt of the stadium "to address the decomposition time of a cigarette butt, the different types of waste found on matchdays and, of course, how to sort them".
