Basketball: FC Barcelona extends its EuroLeague licence for ten years (2026-2036)

The board of directors of FC Barcelona has agreed to ratify the extension of the licence for participation by the men’s senior basketball team (Liga Endesa) in the EuroLeague "for the next ten seasons" (2026-2036), announced the Catalan club following an ordinary session on 22/01/2026.

This announcement comes as the National Basketball Association, in partnership with FIBA, has confirmed its intention to launch a new European men's basketball league by October 2027. The competition is expected to feature 12 permanent members based in 12 cities selected by the NBA, one of which is Barcelona (ESP). Four teams selected on sporting merit (including one team participating in the FIBA Basketball Champions League) will also compete.

"The board of directors of FC Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to always competing in the best competitions available," said the Spanish club.
