"We cannot continue with the crisis in FIFA, a crisis that has been ongoing and is not just relevant to the events of today," said the Jordanian Price Ali Bin Al Hussein, a candidate for the FIFA presidential elections, on Twitter on 27/05/2015.

Seven senior officials from international football were arrested in Zurich (SUI), on 27/05/2015, the day before the opening of the FIFA Congress (28 and 29/05/2015), in which the president of the international federation for the 2015-2019 period will be elected. The election pits the Swiss Joseph Blatter, 79, who has been FIFA president since 1998 against the Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, 39 years old, the president of the Jordanian Federation and a vice-president of FIFA.

"FIFA needs leadership that governs guides and protects our national associations. Leadership that accepts responsibility for its actions and does not pass blame. Leadership that restores confidence in the hundreds of millions of football fans around the world," said Ali Bin Al Hussein, in a series of four tweets posted on his personal account.
