DFL: record revenues of €6.33bn for Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs in 2024-25 (+7.9% vs 2023-24)

Germany's 36 professional clubs (18 in the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga) generated record revenues of €6.33bn in 2024-25, up 7.9% on the 2023-24 financial year (€5.87bn), according to the "Economic Report 2024-25" published by the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) on 26/01/2026.

The bulk of this revenue came logically from the top flight, which collected an unprecedented total of €5.122bn, broken down as follows:
• media revenue: €1.702bn (33.2% of the total);
• advertising: €1.146bn (22.4%);
• player transfers: €872.6m (17%);
• match revenue: €599m (11.7%);
• merchandising: €285.4m (5.6%);
• other revenue: €516.8m (10%).

However, second division clubs also posted record revenues, which exceeded €1bn for the second time in a row (€1.21bn, up 13.1%) in a single financial year.

On the expenditure side, Bundesliga clubs' costs totalled €4.88bn, of which €1.721bn (35%) related to wages. The German top flight is therefore financially profitable for the third consecutive season, with a positive net result of €242m (€114.8m in 2023-24).
