Puma SE: Anta Sports (CHN) to acquire all 29% held by Artémis (Pinault family holding company) for €1.5bn

Anta Sports Products, a Chinese sportswear company, "has reached a share purchase agreement with Groupe Artémis, the investment company of the Pinault family, to acquire a 29.06% stake in Puma SE," announced the group based in Jinjiang (CHN) on 27/01/2026. Artemis holds a 29.06% share in Puma SE, while the remaining 71% is free float.

"The stake is valued at €1.5bn," said Anta Sports, adding that the transaction will be entirely financed by "internal cash resources." The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026. The company, which was founded in 1991, "currently has no plans to make a takeover offer for Puma" but "will carefully assess the possibility of further deepening the partnership between the two parties in the future."

This acquisition makes Anta Sports the main shareholder in the German group. "Anta Sports fully appreciates Puma’s management culture and independent governance as a German-listed company.
