Ligue 1 McDonald's: FC Lorient acquired by Black Knight Football club, owner of AFC Bournemouth

The American consortium Black Knight Football Club has become the sole shareholder of FC Lorient (Ligue 1 McDonald's), announced the club on 28/01/2026. The transaction was approved by the DNCG and subsequently completed in January 2026.

• Loïc Féry, who was the majority shareholder of the French club through his company Geolia Finance Holding, will retain his position as president of FC Lorient, which he has held since 2009, and become a shareholder of BKFC. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed by either party.
• The consortium led by American Bill Foley became a minority shareholder of the club with a 40% stake through a €10m capital increase in January 2023. Loic Féry had already shared his intention to "integrate" his stake in FC Lorient within the BKFC group in November 2025.
