LALIGA/Spain: a €50 reward for “any citizen” reporting illegal match broadcasts in bars

As part of its “LALIGA Bares” tool, LALIGA has launched a complaints channel allowing "any citizen" to report illegal broadcasts of matches in HORECA (hotels, restaurants and cafés) establishments in exchange for a €50 reward, announced the Spanish league on 28/01/2026.

"The objective is twofold: to protect establishments that legally broadcast football and to facilitate citizen collaboration in the defence of audiovisual rights, by making available to users a channel accessible from a mobile phone and operational at any time,” explained the Spanish league, adding that the €50 reward will be granted “only if the report proves effective after the validation process, as part of a regulated and transparent policy of acknowledgment".

In September 2025, LALIGA launched the “LALIGA Bares” tool, which provides restaurant owners with an anonymous reporting channel to denounce public establishments that illegally broadcast matches. To validate a report, it is necessary to locate the establishment and attach photos via an online form.
