Portugal/SL Benfica: record TV contract with NOS before centralisation of rights in 2028 (€57.1m/year)

The telecommunications operator NOS has renewed its domestic broadcasting rights to SL Benfica's home games in Liga Portugal Betclic for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, announced the club on 26/01/2026.

The deal also includes distribution rights to the Benfica TV channel as well as an "advertising contract" with the same channel "that should generate an additional €2.4m," according to SL Benfica. "In the negotiation, Benfica also secured the retention of the right to exploit dynamic advertising at the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium during the 2026-27 and 2027-28 sports seasons, valued at €7.2m," added the club.

In total, SL Benfica will receive €114.2m for its TV rights over the next two seasons, or €57.1m per year. This is a record amount for a club in Portugal. The TV rights for the matches of the 17 other top flight clubs are held by the Sport TV group (which also broadcasts Benfica's away games).
