AFCON 2025: record of 6.1 billion impressions on social media and 5.2 billion video views

"The TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 has broken new ground with a record 6.1 billion digital views across social media platforms during the competition," announced the Confédération Africaine de Football on 28/01/2026, 10 days after the final won by Senegal against Morocco (1-0 after extra time).

AFCON 2025 "is now the most viewed football continental competition, generating an extraordinary 5.2 billion video views," added CAF.

Among other figures regarding the digital performance of the last AFCON:
• 285 million engagements on social media;
• more than one million fan-generated videos created on TikTok under the hashtag #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025.

The African body highlighted in particular "the Diaspora community where CAF has attracted millions of new audiences and users".
