Borussia Mönchengladbach: strategic partnership with Kashima Antlers FC (Japan, 1^st division) until 2030

Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bundesliga) has entered into a strategic partnership with Kashima Antlers FC (Japanese 1^st division) until July 2030, announced the two clubs on 03/02/2026.

This cooperation, which does not involve any financial commitment, aims to "strengthen the sporting and structural links between the two clubs and to boost the development of their brand internationally, knowledge exchanges and the recruitment of new talents".

"The decision to focus on the Japanese market is the result of an in-depth analysis of its sporting and structural assets, as well as the existing links between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Japan," added Borussia. The club had organised a summer tour in the country as early as 1969. Borussia Mönchengladbach also opened a Japanese-language account on social media X in August 2024 and organised two training camps for players aged 6 to 17 in Japan in 2025.
