Germany/DFB: partnership extended with the State of Berlin to hold the cup final in Berlin until 2030

The Deutscher Fussball Bund and the State of Berlin have agreed to extend the hosting of the men’s DFB-Pokal final at the Olympiastadion (74,475 capacity, Berlin) until 2030, announced the DFB on 05/02/2026. The Berlin stadium has hosted the men’s final since 1985.

As part of the extension beyond the 2026 final, the Olympiastadion’s infrastructure will be further upgraded. "A key element is the expansion of the South entrance, aimed at improving access for fans and reducing waiting times. These requirements stem from an analysis conducted following the 2025 DFB-Pokal final".

Indeed, following the 2025 final, the State of Berlin, the police, the company operating the stadium (100% owned by the State of Berlin) and the DFB jointly carried out an analysis of access conditions to the venue, after numerous difficulties were encountered on the day of the event, notably in terms of crowd flow management and entrance controls.
