Wales: Principality retains naming rights to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for 2027-2030

Principality Building Society, a Welsh mutual building company, has extended its naming rights agreement to Principality Stadium (74,500 capacity) in Cardiff (Wales) for a further four years (2027-2030), announced the WRU (Welsh Rugby Union), the operator of the stadium, on 02/02/2026. The contract will end on December 2030.

This new investment by Principality aims to "support the growth of the game in Wales, from grassroots to elite level".

The venue, inaugurated in 1999 under the name Millennium Stadium, was officially renamed “Principality Stadium” on 01/01/2016. The initial 10-years agreement (2016-2025) was estimated at between £12.5m and £15m in total (€17m to €20.3m at the time of signing on 08/09/2015). The partnership was subsequently extended by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group, whose headquarters are located in Cardiff, was also the title partner of the Welsh rugby top division (“Principality League”) between 2005-06 and 2018-19, a naming right held by sports betting operator Admiral since the 2023-24 season.
