EFC: FC Barcelona re-admission request approved following club's withdrawal from the Super League project

The board of European Football Clubs (EFC) unanimously approved FC Barcelona’s (LALIGA EA Sports) application to re-integrate the organisation as an ordinary member, announced both parties on 13/02/2026.

Barça, a founding member of the former ECA, was no longer a member of the organisation since the launch of the European Super League project in April 2021. The club’s re-admission comes six days after it announced its withdrawal from the European closed league project.

"EFC would like to place on record its thanks to Joan Laporta for the spirit in which he engaged in discussions to bring unity back to European club football. We look forward to welcoming Barcelona back into the EFC fold and working collaboratively with the club and our wider membership. EFC has long-term strategic partnerships with UEFA and FIFA and believes in working collaboratively with football stakeholders as we continue to put clubs and their interests at the heart of the game," added the body.
