Cyberharassment: binding measures introduced by Betclic to protect athletes and referees

Betclic Group has activated its partnerships with French sports federations (FFF, FFR, FFHandball and FFVolley) and leagues (LNB, LNR and LNV), with the support of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), to deploy "an unprecedented set of measures to combat the cyberharassment of athletes, referees, coaches and more broadly stakeholders in the sports movement," announced the French online sports betting operator on 16/02/2026.

In order to tackle online abuse declared by 85% of sports stakeholders (according to a CNOSF study), notably fuelled by bettors frustrated by sporting results, Betclic has introduced "structured and binding measures" through three levers of action formalised in a charter of commitment signed by all its partner sports federations and professional leagues.

• Betclic has thus become the first sports betting operator to integrate an anti-cyberharassment contractual commitment into its registration process.
