SS Lazio: presentation of the renovation and extension project (to 50,000 seats) at the Stadio Flaminio

SS Lazio (Serie A Enilive) has presented its ”Il sogno responsabile” (”The Responsible Dream”) project for the renovation and extension of the Stadio Flaminio from 20,000 to 50,000 seats, on 17/02/2026.

The club plans to finalise the administrative formalities by the first half of 2027 before work begins in the summer of 2027 and is completed in the first half of 2031, just over a year before Euro 2032, co-hosted by Italy and Turkey. An event for which "Lazio has shown an interest via the new stadium," explained Claudio Lotito, the club's president. However, it is unlikely that the stadium will be chosen to host the competition, as the FIGC must submit a list of five venues to UEFA by 01/10/2026.

The project for the new stadium, which would become the club’s new home, has been designed by Pierluigi Nervi, grandson of the architect of the Stadio Flaminio, in collaboration with Archea, the company responsible for overseeing ACF Fiorentina's Viola Park and Udinese Calcio's Bluenergy Stadium. The stadium would feature solar panels to make it self-sufficient in terms of energy.
