DFL: Sascha Fligge (ex-Borussia Dortmund) director of corporate communications from 01/05/2026

Sascha Fligge has been appointed director of corporate communications at the Deutsche Fußball Liga, effective from 01/05/2026, announced the DFL on 23/02/2026.

The former director of communications at Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) from 2012 to 2025 will work under the direction of Philip Sagioglou, executive vice president and member of the League's management board, responsible for the areas of communication and corporate development.

"In particular, I will be responsible for the media and press relations, editorial and content teams, as well as CSR communications, innovation and internal communications," said Sascha Fligge on LinkedIn.

He succeeds Tobias Kaufmann who, "after constructive discussions, will be leaving the DFL of his own accord and by mutual agreement," added the German League. Tobias Kaufmann will join VfB Stuttgart from 01/07/2026 as director of communications and media.
