VfB Stuttgart: Tobias Kaufmann (DFL) director of communication & media from 01/07/2026

Tobias Kaufmann has been appointed director of communication and media at VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga), effective from 01/07/2026, announced the club on 23/02/2026.

The German, who has been director of corporate communications at the Deutsche Fußball Liga since January 2024, "will be leaving the DFL of his own accord and by mutual agreement after constructive discussions", said the German league on 23/02. He will be succeeded by Sascha Fligge, former director of communication at Borussia Dortmund, from 01/05.

Tobias Kaufmann will thus be returning to the Stuttgart club, where he previously held the same position from March 2021 to December 2023. "In addition to responsibility for all internal and external communications, he will create and head a media production unit dedicated to VfB," added the club.

Tobias Kaufmann will replace Holger Boyne at Stuttgart, as the latter "will be stepping down at the end of the season at his own request but will continue to advise VfB on certain projects".
