Netflix: worldwide broadcast of the Mayweather-Pacquiao boxing match at the Sphere in Las Vegas on 19/09

Netflix has acquired the global broadcasting rights to the professional boxing match between American Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Filipino Manny Pacquiao, scheduled to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) on 19/09/2026, announced the streaming platform on 23/02/2026.

This will be the second match between the two boxers after their first confrontation in 2015. The latter generated more than $600m (€508m), including ticket sales of $73m (€61m), according to the American business magazine Forbes.

The announcement of the global broadcast of this fight comes as Netflix also said on 17/02 that it would be broadcasting its first MMA event in collaboration with Most Valuable Promotion (a combat sports promoter) on 16/05/2026. The platform is thus continuing its strategy of broadcasting one-off sporting events on a global scale, such as boxing matches involving boxer Jake Paul or the NFL Christmas Games.

This strategy will be marked in 2027 by the first broadcast of a major football competition. The company has become a FIFA partner for the exclusive broadcast of the 2027 and 2031…
