France/Women's football: "All Matchday 19 games played in premium stadiums" (Andreea Koenig, LFFP)

"After 15 matchdays of the 2025-26 Arkema Première Ligue season, we have an average of 2,060 spectators per game, compared with 1,600 the previous season. Two-thirds of our matches are attended by more than 1,000 spectators. Matchday 19 (on 28/03) will be a special one, with all the games taking place in premium stadiums. This scheduling, during a men's international break, will give women's football greater exposure," said Andreea Koenig, vice-president of the Ligue Féminine de Football Professionnel, to News Tank on 24/02/2026.

"In France, we are proud to bring together all the stakeholders on the League's executive committee: the federation, players' and coaches' unions, and medical representatives. At the LFFP, decisions are taken by consensus. Once adopted, they are difficult to challenge because all parties have been involved. That makes for a more stable and lasting development," added Andreea Koenig, who is also president of RC Lens Women (Arkema Première Ligue).
