DFL: MoU signed with China Media Group including the extension of TV rights to Bundesliga until 2028

The Bundesliga and China Media Group (CMG), China's leading state-owned media group and parent company of Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, have signed a memorandum of understanding covering "a number of key areas in which the two organisations will work together," announced the Deutsche Fußball Liga on 25/02/2026.

As part of this agreement, CMG has extended its broadcasting rights for Bundesliga matches until 2028. The Chinese group has been a broadcasting partner of the DFL since 1995. "Both parties also agreed to jointly explore new models that integrate content and market development, promote communication between football clubs at different levels in the two countries, and expand cooperation within the football industry," said the DFL.
