Spain/LALIGA Hypermotion: Cristiano Ronaldo (POR) minority shareholder in UD Almería (25%)

Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo has become a minority shareholder in UD Almería (LALIGA Hypermotion) through the acquisition of a 25% stake held by Saudi Arabian investment fund SMC Group, announced the club on 26/02/2026.

The Al Nassr FC (Saudi Pro League) player made the investment via CR7 Sports Investments, a subsidiary of his company CR7 SA. The footballer is the world's highest-paid footballer in 2025-26, according to Forbes magazine's ranking of the highest earners. The Portuguese player is expected to earn $280m this season, including $230m from his sporting achievements and $50m from sponsorship contracts.

SMC Group is the exclusive commercial partner of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and was the organiser of the Saudi Arabian Super Cup 2025 in Hong Kong, in which Al Nassr took part.
