"We have contacted the partners, last week. We have exchanged letters and we will start now to bring back the reputation of FIFA. We will contact our partners and we will bring them all back in the right situation. We have already planned a personal visit," stated Joseph Blatter, FIFA president, after the meeting of the FIFA Executive Committee after the Congress of the international federation in which Joseph Blatter was re-elected for another four years as president (2015-2019), in Zurich (SUI) on 30/05/2015.

Eugenio Figueredo (Uruguay) and Jeffrey Webb (Cayman Islands), two of the eight vice-presidents of FIFA, and five other leaders in international football were arrested in Zurich, following extradition requests made by the United States, on 27/05/2015, on the eve of the opening of the FIFA Congress.
