Euro 2032/stadiums: "We are aware that we are lagging behind, but we remain hopeful" (G. Gravina, FIGC)

"I would like to thank UEFA for its availability and our fruitful discussions. We are aware that Italy is lagging behind the rest of Europe in terms of sports facilities, but the interest and investments that have followed since we were entrusted with the organisation of Euro 2032 (together with Turkey, by decision of UEFA on 10/10/2023), as well as the collaboration with the relevant ministries and all local authorities, give us good reason to remain hopeful," declared Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC, on 27/02/2026.

These comments were made at the end of a visit to Italy by a UEFA delegation comprising Martin Kallen and Andreas Schaer, CEO and director of UEFA Events SA, respectively, and Michele Uva, UEFA's executive director and delegate for Euro 2032.
