Euroleague Basketball: three-year strategic plan approved with a €2.5bn fundraising target

The board of shareholders of Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA) has approved "a transformational strategic roadmap" over a three-year period (2026-2029), which includes plans to attract private capital through a €2.5bn fundraising round, announced Euroleague Basketball's commercial company on 03/03/2026.

Specifically, ECA is considering an initial €1.5bn fundraising "to support strategic growth initiatives," alongside an additional capital raise of "at least €1bn dedicated to a commercial vehicle focused on accelerating the development and modernization of EuroLeague venues."

This strategic business plan, which aims to "increase the overall value of the Euroleague to €2.5 billion over time," includes:
• the evaluation of establishing permanent licenses (so-called franchises) and expanding the number of licenses to ensure stability and continuity;
• the execution of a transformational organizational roadmap anchored in digital acceleration, direct-to-consumer capabilities, and strategic geographic expansion;
