CAF: Women's AFCON 2026 in Morocco postponed from 25/07 to 16/08 due to "certain unforseen circumstances"

The 14^th edition of the TotalEnergies WAFCON, initially scheduled to take place in Morocco from 17/03 to 03/04/2026, has been rescheduled from 25/07 to 16/08 " in the light of certain unforseen circumstances," announced the Confédération Africaine de Football on 05/03/2026.

"After discussions with its partners, FIFA and other stakeholders, CAF decided to reschedule the dates of the TotalEnergies WAFCON 2026 to ensure the success of this important women’s competition, in the light of certain unforseen circumstances," said the body, which did not disclose the reasons for postponing the event but assured that the necessary preparations "are underway and that all the parties are confident that it will be very successful."

Morocco has already hosted the men's TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 (1-0 victory after extra time for Senegal against the host country) in six cities (nine stadiums) from 21/12/2025 to 18/01/2026.
