Barça: 114,504 socios invited to choose between J. Laporta and V. Font in presidential election on 15/03

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) from 2003 to 2010 and again since March 2021, will face entrepreneur Victor Font in the elections for the presidency of the Catalan club scheduled for Sunday 15/03/2026.

Both candidates surpassed the required threshold of 2,337 socios’ signatures and were therefore validated by the club’s Electoral Board on 05/03. Joan Laporta submitted 8,170 endorsements, of which 7,226 were validated by the Electoral Board, while his opponent submitted 5,144 (4,440 validated).

The candidacy of Marc Ciria was rejected due to insufficient support, with 2,845 signatures submitted but only 2,247 validated.

FC Barcelona’s 114,504 socios are invited to vote at four polling stations open from 9am to 9pm in Catalonia on 15/03 (Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Lleida), as well as another in Andorra.

Joan Laporta had already defeated Victor Font in the previous election in 2021, with 54.28% of the votes cast.
