FIFA: publication of a handbook "to support families navigating agent representation in youth football"

FIFA has published the "Parents’ education on football handbook" developed in collaboration with the football agent working group and Loughborough University (England), announced the body on 12/03/2026.

The 85-page document is designed "to equip parents with the knowledge and practical tools needed to make informed decisions that prioritise their child’s welfare, integrity and long-term development," said FIFA.

The handbook is divided into four sections ("preparation to engage", "entering into a representation relationship", "working with the football agent" and "ending the representation relationship").

Each chapter includes key takeaways, practical advice, information on the applicable regulations, best practices to follow and specific examples "that will help parents navigate situations that may arise throughout their child’s journey in football".
