FC Barcelona: Joan Laporta re-elected president until 2031 with 68% of the vote against Victor Font

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) from 2003 to 2010 and since March 2021, has been re-elected until 2031 in elections held on 15/03/2026.

Born in Barcelona on 29/06/1962, Joan Laporta received 32,934 votes in favour, i.e. 68.18% of the votes cast, against Victor Font (14,385 votes in favour, 29.78%), whom he had already beaten in the previous election in 2021. Laporta's fourth term of office will begin on 01/07/2026.

48,482 socios took part in the elections out of the 114,504 eligible to vote in four polling stations open from 9:00 to 21:00 in Catalonia (Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Lerida), as well as one in Andorra, giving a turnout of 42.3%.

"The socios approved our proposal by a very large majority. In this proposal, we state that, together, we defend Barça against everything and everyone. They have supported our work and given us strength. Now the task is to complete Spotify Camp Nou, build the new Palau (arena) and further strengthen the men’s team," said Joan Laporta following his victory.
