FIFA has entered into a partnership with YouTube (Google/Alphabet), which has become its "preferred platform" for the 2026 World Cup, announced the international body on 17/03/2026.

As part of this "innovative" partnership, the partner broadcasters will be able to stream the first 10 minutes of each World Cup match on their YouTube channel, a first for the competition. "Additionally, media partners will be able to stream a select number of matches in full on their YouTube channel, engaging global audiences and promoting where to watch more of the competition. Media partners will also have more opportunities to monetise their YouTube content," said FIFA.

Extended highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, shorts and video-on-demand content will also be available to media partners for broadcast on their channels.
