Germany: Sky Sport 1 becomes Sky Champions for Champions League final, which will be broadcast in 4K

The German pay-TV group Sky Deutschland launched several initiatives on 03/06/2015 in the lead up to the final of the 2014-15 Champions League between Juventus (Serie A TIM) and FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA), which will take place in the Olympiastadion in Berlin (GER) on Saturday 06/06/2015 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

The channel Sky Sport HD 1, which broadcasts Sky Deutschland's Champions League programmes, will be named "Sky HD Champions" from 03 to 07/06/2015. Each remaining day in the lead up to the event, the show "Champions Sky Talk" will be broadcast live and in public on a studio installed in Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. "Sky Champions HD" will also rebroadcast all the finals of the Champions League which have involved German clubs since 1960 (when Real Madrid CF defeated Eintracht Frankfurt, 7-3).

The 2014-15 final of the Champions League will be broadcast live using 4K technology, also called "Ultra HD", in 13 bars which are partners of Sky Deutschland in Germany and Austria. The broadcaster had already put in place this technology for the 201415 final of the DFB-Pokal (Borussia…
