Piracy/LFP: around twenty IPTV users fined between €300 and €400 in France

"The LFP and LFP Media have welcomed the decisive action taken by the Arras Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of criminal proceedings initiated by the LFP group against individuals suspected of reselling illegal IPTV subscriptions. During the investigation, around twenty users of this service were identified, questioned and then subject to a settlement procedure resulting in fines ranging from €300 to €400. These measures are based on Article 79-4 of the 1986 audiovisual law, which provides for penalties of up to €7,500," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 18/03/2026.

"The LFP and LFP Media welcome this strong signal sent to users of piracy services, who wrongly believe they can act with impunity, even though they knowingly contribute to a criminal ecosystem that seriously harms the entire sports sector," added the French league.

The governing body and its commercial subsidiary had previously secured two favorable rulings from the Paris Judicial Court on 18/12/2025, concerning the blocking of websites and IPTV services illegally broadcasting Ligue 1 McDonald's and…
