Emirates FA Cup: a trophy tour organised in Japan from 27/03 to 05/04/2026

The Football Association will organise an Emirates FA Cup trophy tour in Japan from 27/03 to 05/04/2026 "to bring the passion and prestige of the competition to fans in Japan through a series of unique activations that bridge football with Japanese culture," announced The FA on 18/03/2026.

The initiative, named “Emirates FA Cup: Tokyo Takeover”, will visit the prefectures of Tokyo, Osaka and Shizuoka. The trophy will notably be showcased at the national stadium in Tokyo alongside the Japanese Football Association’s Emperor’s Cup, which was originally modelled on the FA Cup. It will also be displayed at the Tokyo Dome during an event with Japan’s oldest professional baseball team, the Yomiuri Giants, and at a sumo wrestling stable in Osaka.

A collaboration with the football manga Blue Lock, "which has sold over 50 million copies worldwide," is also planned, featuring bespoke content pairing key themes of the Emirates FA Cup with famous moments from iconic games and scenes from the manga.
