FIFA: Israel fined for discrimination, no action taken regarding clubs located in the West Bank

The Israeli Football Association (IFA) has been sanctioned by the FIFA disciplinary committee for having committed "multiple breaches of its obligations as a FIFA member association," announced the international federation on 19/03/2026.

This decision comes in response to a proposal presented by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) at the 74^th FIFA Congress, held in Bangkok (THA) on 17/05/2024, following which the world body mandated its Disciplinary Committee.

The PFA called for the adoption of "appropriate sanctions against Israeli teams, including national representative teams and club teams, due to the international law violations committed by the Israeli occupation in Palestine, in particular Gaza," and denounced several violations of the FIFA Statutes by UEFA "manifested in its continued inclusion of football teams located on the territory of another association in its national league," in this case the PFA.
