FIFA: "(Essential) that members of the Executive Committee are elected by Congress" (J. Champagne)

"That members of the FIFA Executive Committee are elected in the future by the Congress and not by the confederations is absolutely essential! Confederations (UEFA, CAF, AFC, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and OFC), which are not only technically not members of FIFA and are not subsidiaries of FIFA, but, instead, challenge the authority of FIFA while controlling their own governance," said Jerome Champagne to News Tank Football on 03/06/2015.

The Frenchman Jerome Champagne, 56 years old, was the first to declare, on 20/01/2014, his intention to run for president of FIFA for the election on 29/05/2015, however he could not, in the end, stand for the election, after failing to obtain at least five nominations from national federations, as provided for in the FIFA Statutes.
