Canal+: partnership with Bundesliga International to train journalists in French-speaking Africa

Canal+ has partnered with Bundesliga International to launch the "Bundesliga Canal+ Media Academy" aimed at training sports journalists in French-speaking Africa, the group announced on 25/03/2026.

"Over several days, 10 young journalists will take part in masterclasses led by professionals from the Bundesliga and Canal+: interview techniques, storytelling, content production, ethics, and an introduction to the professional football ecosystem. Two participants will be invited to Germany for an immersive experience at the Bundesliga’s Media House, to get first-hand insight into a major European league," the group said.

This initiative is part of the Canal+ University program run by the Canal+ Foundation, dedicated to training and education to "support the emergence of African talent both in front of and behind the camera."

Canal+ holds the broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Mauritius (in French) until 2028.
